A Journey Rooted in Wales

My journey in Wales began in 1997 when I moved to Swansea for university from the Cotswolds. The breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and warm-hearted people quickly won my heart, and I have long since felt like an honorary Welsh woman. I married a proud Welshman and our two children attend a Welsh-language school. Wales is more than just where I live – it’s a place I have come to deeply cherish.
I began making candles in 2014, in the stunning surroundings of Snowdonia. What started as a hobby at my kitchen table grew into Calon Home in 2019, a business named after the Welsh word for “heart” or “darling.” Now based in Carmarthenshire, I continue to pour my heart into every product, sharing the beauty and warmth of Wales with customers around the world.
Hand-poured with Love, Inspired by Nature
At Calon 
Home, each candle, wax melt, and diffuser is crafted with love and care in my garden studio. I use only the finest ingredients, ensuring that our products are as kind to the planet as they are luxurious. Our range is plastic-free, vegan-friendly, with our candles and wax melts being made with natural wax sourced from the EU, reflecting our commitment to sustainability.
Our unusual candle scents are inspired by the landscapes and traditions of Wales, designed to evoke the unique beauty of this land. For those who love the coast, our Rock Salt and Driftwood fragrance captures the essence of the sea, while Lavender and Sea Salt blends soothing lavender with a fresh coastal breeze. If the tranquility of Welsh woodlands speaks to you, our Bluebell candle fragrance offers a delicate floral scent reminiscent of springtime walks, and Rosewood and Velvet Moss brings the earthy, grounding notes of the forest floor into your home. And for a touch of warmth and comfort, our Fireside scent evokes the feeling of a being held in a warm masculine embrace in front of a Welsh cottage hearth.
All our products feature bilingual labels in both English and Welsh, celebrating the language and culture that inspire us every day.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Calon Home. In partnership with Ecologi, we plant a tree for every order placed, contributing to global reforestation efforts. This initiative allows us to give back to the environment that inspires our work, ensuring that every purchase contributes to a more positive impact on the planet.
We’ve also made a conscious effort to eliminate plastic from our products and packaging as well as making the commitment to using a wealth of biodegradable, compostable, recycled and recyclable materials.

Our Welsh candle company now has stockists across Wales, and even as far as New York and Spain. It’s a dream come true to share the beauty and scents of Wales with people around the world, and I’m grateful for every customer who has supported this journey.
